CRIMINAL LAWYER NOW TAKING CLIENTS IN FAMILY COURT in London, Ontario

A criminal law firm in London's historic Old North is now taking clients where a Children's Aid Society has started child-protection proceedings in court. "CAS has the power to apprehend a child even before any of the allegations in its application have been proven in court," says Brian Doody, lawyer and principal of the firm. "Most parents are in shock when the CAS decides to act. But despite the strong emotions it's very important to be careful what you say and to speak to a lawyer right away." Doody says the firm's expansion into child-protection proceedings was a logical choice. "There are many examples in criminal law where the police are required to contact CAS even when one of the parents is a victim of domestic violence," he says. "I knew if I was going to be able to help in those cases I'd have to expand my practice into family law." The firm's office at 197 Huron St. has free parking in front and a large wooded lot in back that it shares with many family-friendly squirrels and birds. "I want my clients and their families to feel at ease," says Doody, adding that the office is about 5 minutes' walk west of the Merrymount Family Support and Crisis Centre. Potential clients of the Brian Doody Law Firm can reply in confidence to this ad or call or text , leaving a voice or text message and a number where you can be contacted to set up a free no-obligation appointment.
